SchoolTime for Teachers

Welcome to SchoolTime at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts! In this time of citywide changes, Brooklyn Center recognizes the importance of providing innovative ways to incorporate the arts and literacy into your classroom. Our vision is to present affordable programming reflective of Brooklyn's diverse cultures for students of all ages that is educationally, socially, and artistically relevant, and to cultivate the next generation of performers, writers, and performing arts enthusiasts.

Our 2007-08 series consists of entertaining educational performances designed to inspire creativity and spark a curiosity for discovery and new experiences. As in past seasons, several titles have been designated as Literacy Blockbusters; these shows transform classic and contemporary children's books into live performance. To help bridge the gap from the page to the stage, many blockbusters are accompanied by study guides. These guides are intended to improve your students' cultural awareness by encouraging them to read and write about the performance they attend.

Thank you for letting Brooklyn Center be a part of your school year. We look forward to seeing you and your students this season! If you have any questions or to purchase tickets call 718-951-4600 x25, Monday - Friday, 10am to 4pm.
